KDR-200 & SPT Hammer
L&T had collaborated with Japanese consultants for the ‘Bullet Train’ project. They recommended that L&T purchase an automated hammer.
Solution
The team interviewed the Japanese consultants and L&T's engineers to understand the technical specifications. Based on the discussions, they designed a customised drilling rig with an automatic SPT hammer. Following the design approval, the team produced a prototype, tested it, and checked its quality in accordance with the client's demands.
KDR 200 performed well with more than 70% energy transmission ratios, while the automatic SPT hammer's performance was double. After L&T gave us repeat orders, we received orders from all over the country. Kores Engineering has provided more than 20 drilling rigs to different parts of India and has exported one rig to Nigeria.
The new automatic SPT system provided by Kores along with the Crawler mounted hydrostatic drilling rig, is very successful at the site.
